On Monday, May 15, 2006 legendary Green Bay Packer Bart Starr will be the keynote speaker at the Fairbanks Fifth Annual Circle of Hope Dinner held at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.
Starr will discuss the profound effects that drug addiction can have on a person and his/her family. Having lost his own son to a drug addiction, he knows firsthand the impact it can have. Starr has committed much time and money to this cause. Today, he runs Healthcare Realty Management. Additionally, he co-founded The Rawhide Ranch, a home that provides assistance for young boys in trouble.
According to its website, Fairbanks is a nonprofit organization that focuses on recovery from alcohol and drug problems. The organization provides programs and services to improve the well-being of individuals, families and communities. For the past five years, they have hosted a dinner with a celebrity guest speaker. All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the Recovery High School at Fairbanks, which opens on Aug. 3, 2006.
